Welcome to the Writersco Poetry Dueling Arena!

Here you have a chance to pit your own poems against those of your peers in active, one-on-one competition. Winners are determined by the body of authors that is writersco.com, via wiki-polls located on each category's page.

Yes, participation in this activity, whether by dueling, voting, or just chatting will help keep this function alive and well. Believe me: a single person, especially a single regular, makes a huge difference.

Make absolutely sure you read The Rules first, and then head on over to submit your poems!

Kick back, have fun, and enjoy this challenge to your writing ability.

News!

Unfortunately inactive at present.

As you all know, when you win at the PDA you get a nice little comment in your badge box about how many times you've won here. Not many contests can offer that.

Old News

The arena is starting back up under new management. As of now, you can direct your questions, complaints and roses to [Annie] and [Calann]!

Duels are now permanently up for a minimum of two weeks at a time.

2006-11-26 [Aradon Templar]: This looks fun. Is it still being prepared? I have a poem to submit once it opens, under emotional :)
Er. Actually, I don't know whether it goes under Emotional or Narrative. Ah well, I'll settle that when it opens.

2006-11-26 [Mister Saint]: It's quite ready! Submit away. ^_^

2006-11-26 [Aradon Templar]: Oh, so I see. Ought to've checked the new submissions page first ^^'

2006-11-26 [Mister Saint]: No worries! *headbangs*

2006-11-28 [Mister Saint]: The first round of duels will begin this coming Saturday. Everyone get your entries in, tell your poet friends about the place, whatever it takes! We needja!

2006-12-02 [Mister Saint]: Alright! We have some duels ready to go for this weekend. Yay for all that stuff!

2006-12-10 [Mister Saint]: The first round of duels is in the books. Thanks to everyone who entered and helped! Unfortunately there won't be any duels this week as we don't have any submissions. Nag people, and get 'em interested!

2006-12-11 [Calann]: Currently stalking... maybe even participating, at some point. :3

2006-12-12 [Mister Saint]: Both good! Unless you're scary. Which could still be good. ^-^

2006-12-13 [Morningstar Rising]: It is fun, I have been in two duels on Elftown.

2006-12-13 [Nightshadow]: Hee...glad you like it, Morningstar! ^^ The Elftown one was always fun.

2006-12-13 [Mister Saint]: Alright! Oh... quick question. Poems that have been entered on Elftown... should they be allowed here, too, and vice versa? What does everyone think?

2006-12-13 [Nightshadow]: Yes. If the arena gets congested here, then we can change it later as a flood valve, but I think every poem should get two chances if the author looks for it. :3

2006-12-13 [Calann]: The definition for the Free Verse category is more scary than I could ever be. Most of my poems are free form. <_<
